Criteria and responsibilities for country representatives of the International Inclusive Taekwon-Do Association (IITA) embody our commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and the well-being of our students. Here’s a detailed breakdown:

Criteria:

  1. Assistant Instructors: Individuals aged 15 and above can serve as Assistant Instructors to provide support as needed.
  2. Instructors: Those running a club or class must be at least 18 years old and hold a 1st-degree black belt or higher, demonstrating the capability to effectively lead a class.
  3. Open to Supporting Diverse Needs: All instructors must be open and welcoming to individuals with diverse needs, whether physical or intellectual.
  4. Police Check: Instructors working within special education units at schools must provide a clean police record check, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  5. Attendance at Official International Instructor Course: All instructors must attend the IITA Official International Instructor Course when the opportunity arises.
  6. Training Programme Plan: Instructors must present a comprehensive training program plan tailored specifically for Inclusive classes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prioritize Student Caregiver Input: Always listen to the caregiver or parent of the student first, to understand the best methods for facilitating their learning.
  2. Provide Safe Training: Ensure that all training sessions are conducted in a safe environment and cater to the specific needs and requirements of each student.
  3. Continuous Learning: Commit to ongoing learning and research, particularly regarding disabilities, to better support students.
  4. Focus on Student Development: Work tirelessly for the development and progress of each student, providing them with ample opportunities for growth.
  5. Prepare Students for Grading: Ensure that students are prepared for grading assessments, demonstrating their understanding of required skills and techniques for progression.
  6. Promote Healthy Living: Encourage students with disabilities to adopt healthy lifestyles and prioritize their overall well-being.
  7. Encourage Independence: Foster independence, responsibility, and self-management skills among students, empowering them to take control of their martial arts journey.
  8. Financial Accessibility: Provide training to all students, regardless of their financial circumstances. If financial barriers arise, make arrangements with the school or parent to ensure access.
  9. Support IITA Events: Support the partnership between IITA and relevant NGOs by attending events when possible, to promote the inclusion and participation of students.
  10. Annual Registration: Ensure the annual registration of member organizations, IITA instructors, assistant instructors, and athletes to support the ongoing work of IITA, utilizing the login feature on the IITA website.
